Getting Started

Step 1: Download the SureSync MFT Installer

Step 2: Download the Trial License File

The trial license allows you to use all functionality of the software for up to 5 servers for 30 days from the date of installation. The trial license file is distributed in a .zip file. You will need to unzip the .lic file to import it into the software.

Step 3: Download the Evaluator’s Guide

The Evaluator’s Guide will walk you through configuration of your SureSync MFT environment in a step-by-step manner with screenshots. If you need additional setup assistance, please reach out to our sales team to schedule a setup call with our support team. The guides walk through a common setup scenario.

Optional Add Ons

Step 4 (Optional): Status Web

Status Web is an optional paid Add-on license. Status Web provides a web site that can be installed on a Microsoft IIS web server to display status information about your SureSync MFT Jobs through a web browser. From the Status Web site, you can also stop/start Jobs and perform other management tasks.

Step 5 (Optional): Additional SureSync MFT Resources

SureSync MFT offers a couple of optional components included with the license. You do not have to utilize these optional components.

LockStatus

LockStatus is a tray application installed on your end user workstation machines. LockStatus will display a pop-up notification when the user encounters a file locked by another user and will display a second pop-up when the same file becomes available for write access.

Please note that File Locking in MFT will work without LockStatus. This is an optional component that enhances messaging for your end users.

Endpoint

Endpoint provides a solution for remote desktops and laptops that have dynamic IP addresses. SureSync MFT can be configured so the remote workstation establishes the connection back to the MFT Hub to perform the synchronization. This gets around the dynamic IP issue. You only need an IP address or DNS name that the workstation can use to the reach the Hub. The Endpoint client on the end users machine allows the user to view status, stop/start Jobs and more.
