Step 2: Download Advanced Open File Support (optional)

MigratePro utilizes VSS open file technology in Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2008 Server, and Windows Vista. This support is provided free of charge and no software needs to be installed. If you are running these operating systems you may skip this step.

If you are running Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Professional, or Windows XP and plan to migrate files which are opened locked or opened exclusively then you must download and install the Advanced Open File Support add-on on the source Windows 2000 or Windows XP machine. This add-on requires a license to be purchased for the source machine.

AOFS should not be used on machines which already have St. Bernard Open File (HotSpot) technology installed.
